Summary

Raise the minimum Go patch version from 1.26.8 to 1.26.10 in the application, lint tooling, and example modules. Existing CI jobs that read go.mod now select the updated version. The Go 1.26 / 1.27 test matrix remains unchanged.

Scope and classification

  • Goal: synchronize repositories with their remote default branches and upgrade Go to 1.26.10.
  • Core: the toolchain minimum affects shared module consumers and build tooling. Request two reviewers, including the module owner.
  • Related GitHub / Jira issues: none supplied.
  • Risk: environments pinned below Go 1.26.10 must upgrade or allow toolchain selection. Rollback: revert this commit.

AI authorship

  • AI was used: Codex.
  • AI-authored files: _example/example01/go.mod, _example/example02/go.mod, go.mod, go.tools.mod.
  • Human line-by-line reviewed: None — not yet reviewed by a human.

Verification

Checkout chore/go-1.26.10 (commit afe81d42d01f258c6ae5759327446ca8ac4a62b5) in golang-queue/queue. Install Go 1.26.10; go version must report go1.26.10. Run commands from the repository root.

Command Expected behavior Status Observed result
GOTOOLCHAIN=local go test -mod=readonly -count=1 -timeout=8m -covermode=atomic -race ./... Existing tests succeed with race detection Passed Exit 0 on macOS/arm64
GOTOOLCHAIN=local go tool -modfile=go.tools.mod golangci-lint run --timeout=5m Pinned lint tool runs under Go 1.26.10 Passed 0 issues
GOTOOLCHAIN=local go build -mod=readonly ./... Main module builds without dependency edits Passed Exit 0
git diff --check and git diff --cached --check before commit Clean patch whitespace Passed Exit 0
In each directory containing _example/**/go.mod: GOTOOLCHAIN=local go build -mod=readonly ./... Both example modules compile Passed Exit 0 for both
GOTOOLCHAIN=local go test -run=^$ -count=5 -benchmem -bench=. ./... Existing benchmark suite completes five iterations Passed Exit 0; no performance comparison claimed

Version and compatibility scenario

  1. Run git grep -n '^go ' -- '*.mod': all application, tools, and example module directives must report go 1.26.10.
  2. Run the build, lint, and test commands above with Go 1.26.10. Expected: all exit successfully, preserving existing queue behavior.
  3. Inspect git diff master...HEAD: only the Go directives change; dependency versions and Go source remain unchanged.

Execution status: Passed. All changed directives were inspected, and local validation above passed. GitHub Actions results are separate from these local checks and were not available when this PR was created.

Cleanup: Testcontainers clean up their containers automatically. Remove binaries produced by example builds when finished.

Reviewer guide

Review the minimum-toolchain requirement and spot-check each module directive. No external or security-sensitive interface changed; the diff contains only version declarations and no secrets. Release publishing is outside this verification.

- Require Go 1.26.10 across application and lint tool modules
- Align example modules with the same Go patch version
